In
early days el corte offered an extensive summer programme.
The veterans will surely remember the famous HotSummernightSalons
on every 10th, 20th and 30th of the summer months. After 10
years they became so popular that the el corte crew hardly
had any free time left during this holiday period. The
first Goffertpark salon was in 1997. We have had several live
ensembles and mostly good weather. The
salon in 1999 had over 700 paying guests. In 2004 we decided
to organize this salon without live music. That resulted in
a very nice and good quality dance crowd. So we will go on
doing it like this... The first cluster of August salons happened
in 2002. In 2005 we extended it to the four days with an extra
salon on the
Friday evening.
In 2009 Arnoud took over the coordination.
From now on we will have 7 SUMMERDAZE in Arnhem and Nijmegen
with many low budget salons and other events. In fact almost
all the TANtango make there contributions. |
