At El Corte Time Slows Down

It’s not that I don’t enjoy dancing Tango at home in New York and wherever I travel — it’s just that at El Corte time slows down and there is something special about the atmosphere and the pace of an El Corte Milonga. Maybe it’s because I’m not worrying about an unfamiliar metro system, when I travel, or thinking about getting home quickly to follow up on some work, when I’m at home? But El Corte feels like a private island devoted to Tango. My next visit to that island is long overdue.
